RecordThen Chrome Extension Support

Record — Screen Recorder captures browser work context for a connected RecordThen workspace. A RecordThen account and an eligible plan are required.

Install and connect

  1. Open RecordThen in the Chrome Web Store and choose Add to Chrome.
  2. Open the extension from Chrome's Extensions menu and follow the connection prompt.
  3. Sign in to RecordThen, select the workspace you want to use, and return to the extension.

Permission troubleshooting

Chrome asks for broad page access because the privacy guard, capture controls, recording overlay, and user-triggered screenshots must work on the page you choose. Screen/window selection and microphone access remain controlled by Chrome's own prompts.

Privacy & data

Page inspection stays local until you start a capture. Uploads are user-triggered, active network context is bounded and redacted, sensitive sites and visible password fields are blocked, and Loom authentication cookies and signed media URLs are not retained. Read the extension-specific privacy policy for collection, storage, recipients, retention, and Limited Use details.

Delete extension data

  • Delete uploaded recordings and imports from your RecordThen workspace.
  • Discard an unfinished recovery item from the extension before removing it.
  • Remove the extension from chrome://extensions to clear its extension-controlled local storage.
  • For account-level access or deletion help, email support@recordthen.com.

Report your version

Open the extension and choose Settings → Advanced to find its version. You can also enable Developer mode at chrome://extensions to copy the extension ID. Include the version, operating system, what you expected, and the steps that failed; do not send passwords, API tokens, signed URLs, or private recording content by email.
